Barista Connect is back and is heading to Vienna! Now in its third year, the three-day coffee conference is the brainchild of three-time national barista champion Sonja Zweidick (two for Austria and one for Denmark) and is “dedicated to improving equality by empowering and inspiring women in various roles within the international coffee community.” Previous years’ iterations have been chockablock with conversations and workshop, and this year will be no different.
Taking place between August 4th and 6th at Kaffee Süssmund in Vienna, Barista Connect will feature 11 talks, nine speakers, and two workshops lead by a variety of leading personalities from across the industry. Speakers will include Christina Meinl (two-time German Barista Champion and SCA 2nd Vice President), Simone König (Café Imports, Germany), Erna Tonsberg (two-time German Barista Champion and Head Barista and Trainer at Roestbar), and Gwilym Davies (2009 World Barista Champion and owner of Prufrock Coffee).
Tickets for the event cost €119 and are available via the Barista Connect website. Workshops and discussion topics are still being rolled out, so check back in on their website regularly for more information and updates.
Barista Connect takes place between August 4-6 at Kaffee Süssmund at Dominikanerbastei 11, 1010 Wien, Austria.
